This self-powered diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) is patterned after costly commercial models. It can pull you underwater for hours of effortless snorkeling or Scuba diving. You can build it in a couple of weekends from these plans.

It comes as close to the sheer thrill and freedom of flying as you can get, except you are flying through the water instead of air. Point the nose downward, press the trigger switches in the handles and off you go, sweeping down in a graceful dive, rolling, banking like an airplane.

The Scuba Tow is a battery powered underwater scooter that is driven by two electric fishing motors with rechargeable batteries. The props are safely shielded by the broad swept back stern wing gives the slim cigar shaped scooter the aerodynamic look of a jet fighter.

Commercial snorkeling scooters can range from $600.00 to diver propulsion vehicles well over $3500.00. The cost for this scooter will amount far less than that, however the total amount will depend on careful shopping, what materials may be currently on hand and what features the builder chooses to make this a true custom scooter. The beauty of building from plans is that the project can be built in stages depending on the builder’s budget. Build a piece at a time and before you know it you will be ready to dive.
